Carl Butcher Part 1

A few years ago Dan DiBiase and I developed an online adventure series based on a character Dan had created. Utilizing Dan's amazing photography and 1/6 scale sets, I added music, sound effects and strung together the images to make a series of mini movies. My tools at the time were limited and it was tedious--but fun.

It was a step ahead of what other GIJoe collectors were doing at the time and I like to think we raised the bar for others in the one-sixth scale world. Looking back at these movies today my movie making skills were very primitive. My animation program was a problem also. Flash has an annoying tendency to do strange things like play a movie perfectly nine straight times and throw your music out of sync on the tenth. I have better tools at my disposal today, so it might be fun to take another go at it.

These movies have been offline while Dan and I moved servers and websites around. I hate to see them go unseen, even as crude as they are. Warning, if you are on a dialup connection it won't be worth the trouble and you really need speakers, sound plays a pretty big role.

Deering Productions is still active and Dan continues to create amazing work. Stop in and take a look.

The Deering and Carl Butcher logos were created by the amazingly talented Daryl Williams.

My favorite part of all my years in the Joe world is the wealth of talent I have come across.

'til Daryl and Dan are both snapped up by the big buck corporations where they belong
