With worldwide box office passing the 250 million dollar point, talk of a Fantastic Four sequel is in the air.
Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis and Jessica Alba discussed the sequel:
"We've signed for two and three already, and it looks more than likely that we'll be shooting them even as early as next year," said Gruffudd.
"The good thing is it won't be an origin picture," said Chiklis, "So we can go right into storytelling, and depending on which villain we decide to go with, and which way we decide to go, we can get right into the crux of the story immediately."
Jessica Alba's thoughts turned to more maternal matters. "Tim put secrets in this movie that he's going to reveal in the next one, and I think we have to get the Fantasticar – that'd be cool… and I think we need some kids, at least by the third one, so Reed and Sue should get busy!"
Tim Story (Fantastic Four director) weighed in his thoughts for a sequel: "I hope that I can come back for the second one, because from frame one we can go beserk," laughs Story. "There's no concrete answers yet, but we are thinking a lot about what would happen in number two. One thing that's for certain is that you do get to see Reed and Sue get married, which would be incredible."
The conversation with Story turned to possible villains for the next film: "We talked a lot about The Puppet Master, the Mole Man and of course Dr. Doom. Those who know the comic know Doom hasn't even gotten his gadgets yet, his DoomBots, his Armor," said Story. "There's so much to Doom that's coming and when I think about it, it's exciting."
