Kim Possible, No Miracle This Time
It's official, at the completion of the episodes for season four, Kim Possible is ceasing production. No miracle Save Kim Possible campaign is going to happen this time.
Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle are already looking beyond the Disney studios for other creative opportunities and all of Team Possible, including director Steve Loter, are planning the wrap up for the show.

Steve Loter hasn't turned out the lights yet. According to Loter at RonStoppable.net, "I'm hoping to make the finale a little bit of a fan event. I'm going to try and blog the last few days with photos and thoughts. I'll also try to do little 'making of' postings including descriptions about the alternate endings we had planned for the last episode."

I never expected the show to run forever, and both Bob and Mark expressed a desire to move on after the current batch of episodes, but the thing that amazes me is how Disney never saw the market for this character. Despite having a huge demographic, Disney never capitalized on Kim Possible. Try to find anything related to Kim Possible at Disney World. Sure, they finally added Kim and Ron as "face" characters at MGM studios, and tested the interactive Team Possible adventure at EPCOT, but there is no merchandise anywhere, with the exception of a couple of pins.

It's almost as if Disney didn't want Kim Possible to succeed.
In closing we tip our fedora to everyone who made this a great show: Bob Schooley, Mark McCorkle, Steve Loter, Stephen Silver, Christy Carlson Romano, Will Freidle, Tahj Mowry, Nancy Cartwright, Nicole Sullivan, John Dimaggio, Gary Cole, Jean Smart and the remainder of the voice cast, writers, and animators.

What? No way! I am a huge fan of KP. Thans to you Tom, the Kimmunicator is my sms alert tone.... Sadly, she is even harder to find in the UK. My partner very kindly tracked down every episode and has made me complete season 1 - 3 box sets with 4 on the way. I know, geek alert!
until the sitch changes, keep the dream alive dude

Yep, it's true. Confirmed by Bob, Mark and Steve. I don't think we'll ever get "real" box sets here. Guess I'll have to burn 'em from iTunes. Another "miss" by the Disney folks related to KP.

I'll gladly spin off copies for you, if you wish?

Big shame, but I guess that, with KP4 bringing high school to a close, commissioning KP5 would have to commit them to however many years of college. Much as I'll miss them all, it's best to sign off now rather than lose the edge and end up jumping the shark two episodes into an already signed season 6.
Paul, I'm also a brit, but based in Malaysia - season 4 starts here on July 14 (a few emails have been sent to disney channel asia since February). I'd be very happy to pay postage for dvds, as well, or even give you a spot on a server I control to feed them to me - public download no way. Wouldn't need to say it if disney would release them properly though. And yes, I have Tom's Kimmunicator as my sms tone as well, as do a couple of acquaintances here now too.
Tom, thanks for all you've done for KP and Ron, and also pushing the cause for Rush to be in the Hall of Fame

I'd love DVD's of the series. I have the three compilation DVD's and the movie, but hold out no hope of season sets. Let me know what I need to do to get them from you.

I know it seems the end for our teen hero is for sure, but I, for one, cannot bring myself to say goodbye. She has been an inspiration to me in so many ways. For one I love to draw anime, and Kim possible opened me up to a whole different kind of animation. Hearing Call Me, beep Me made me want to sing. And She also showed me that with love anything is possible. I love you KP.
