This Bangles single, composed by Prince, is our Record of the Week. For most people this was their introduction to The Bangles. As a huge fan of all-female bands I actually became a Bangles fan with their first EP. I was fortunate enough to see them when they opened for Cindy Lauper on their "All Over the Place" tour, and even managed to run into them after the show. They were still pretty much unknown at that point and probably one of the nicest bands I've ever met.
For those of you that have seen the Bangles or Susanna on recent tours, you've probably noticed something unusual about the performance of this song. The line, "He tells me in his bedroom voice, come on honey let's go make some noise," is now absent from the song. In interviews Susanna has said now that she's older and more mature that line embarrases her.
