Raiders of the Lost Ark in Stop Motion

Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of my favorite films of all time, and Indiana Jones is one of the greatest characters to grace a movie screen.

I'm also a huge action figure fan, especially the adventure type figures. My name, Adventuretom, wasn't just a random choice.

That said, I was amazed to see this remarkable re-working of the opening scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark in stop motion.

I was lucky to work with an amazing designer and set builder, Dan DiBiase, when we released the one-sixth scale Carl Butcher adventures, but the work that went into this short is just jaw dropping.

Indiana Jones Comes to Lego

It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Indiana Jones and I'm thrilled to see Dr. Jones enter the world of Lego.

A few Years back Lego had a series of sets based on the adventure theme with mummies and caves and other Indy type stuff, but they lacked Indy himself. Instead Lego used a character called Johnny Thunder who was Indy in everything but name. Those Adventurer sets were a lot of fun and are probably my favorite Lego sets of all time.

Lego has rectified the omission of Indiana Jones from their Adventurer line with licensed sets no doubt in preparation for this summers release of Indy 4.

There's No Grail Diary in The Da Vinci Code

I've seen some pretty amazing things created by friends in the one-sixth scale hobby.

One of my all time favorites is the Indiana Jones Grail Diary created by Daryl Williams.

Despite it's miniscule size, the diary is incredibly detailed. Based on extensive research done by numerous Indiana Jones fans, Daryl created not only each page of the diary, but other relevant items from The Last Crusade including letters, tickets and the envelope the diary was mailed in.

I consider myself very fortunate to own a pair of these diaries. They are a work of art and since I don't believe Daryl has produced one in quite a while, they are a rare item for both the Indiana Jones and one-sixth scale collector.

After the success of the Grail Diary, Daryl also produced this Raiders of the Lost Ark Journal.

Cool stuff indeed.
