Another Record of the Week
This is a compilation album released in 1979 to capitalize on the success of the Jan and Dean Deadman's Curve TV movie and the touring success that resulted from that.
The reason for this weeks choice are the photos on the back cover. Jan and Dean played for a sold out crowd in August of 1979 at the Carowinds Paladium. The live shots on the back cover are taken from that show and that's a concert I just happened to attend. Those photos were taken by Alan Shapiro.
I've always been a big fan of Surf Music and The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean were pretty high on my playlist at that point. I attended this show with my friends Eddie and Phil and if you scan the crowd at the top right you can pick out where we're standing.
The two additional photos are pictures I took while at the show with a Kodak Disc camera.
