I'll admit I'm not much of a fan of what has happened to the political system in the United States and it seems like a really great Dylan song performed masterfully by The Byrds is a perfect response.

Joey Ramone - Rock and Roll is the Answer

This Record of the Week is the first single from Joey Ramone's second solo album, Ya Know. The featured track from that record is Rock and Roll is the Answer. This was a Record Store Day limited release.

This album is a series of odds, ends, and leftovers; and because of that is very uneven. The first single itself is a little bit odd, kind of Arena Rock meets Joey Ramone. Think AC/DC with Joey on lead vocals. That's not to say that it's bad, it's just not quite what you were expecting.

Before anyone comments on that, I know Joey loved and recorded all kinds of music. One of my favorite Joey songs by Joey is his Carolina Beach Music version of Rockaway Beach, with the Chairmen of the Board's General Norman Johnson.

Still, I'm not quite sure this would have been a Joey approved mix. But, it's what we have, so listen and enjoy it.
